Psychotherapy for Parents
Online Psychotherapy for Parents with UKCP Registered Psychotherapist Dawn Giulietta MA based in Plymouth, Devon.
Parents Self-Development and Parenting Skills for Family Wellbeing, Transgenerational Healing and Inner Child Work.
As parents, we have much more influence, power and responsibility in our children’s experience than we realise.
How we are, especially unconsciously (from our own upbringing and parenting) affects and shapes our own family and children in how they act, who they believe they are, what they think they are capable of and how they experience others and the world.
In our regular or ad-hoc Psychotherapy Parenting sessions, you can become conscious of your own story, your presence, behaviours and beliefs and how it is handed down, compensated for and can trigger your own children.
In doing your own personal transformational healing work through family constellations, inner child work, parenting skills and personal development, what are perceived as your children’s issues, can be shifted through your own conscious awareness, liberating you from limiting family, cultural, social and karmic conditioning.
We create a real “facilitating environment” (Donald Winnicott) in which our kids and us can flourish.
You will gain the most from this experience by regular attendance, being open and curious and working with the process outside of the sessions.

Kahlil Gibran “On Children”
And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said
“Speak to us of children”
Your children are not your children
They are the sons and daughters of life’s longing for itself
They come through you but not from you
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you
You may give them your love but not your thoughts
For they have their own thoughts
You may house their bodies but not their souls
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow
Which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams
You may strive to be like them
But seek not to make them like you
For life goes not backward, nor tarries with yesterday
You are the bows from which your children
As living arrows are sent forth
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite
And he bends you with his might
That his arrows may go swift and far
Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness
For even as he loves the arrow that flies
So he loves also the bow that is stable.

“…I had been having problems with my daughter, we disagreed over everything, were arguing a lot and she seemed to always favour her Dad over myself … [the] process was extremely enlightening for me, the realisation was so strong and powerful … I realised I had been forcing my views onto her … I got the message that she isn’t a mini me, she is her own self. And I need to treat her that way … The change in our relationship has been immense … I feel so grateful to Dawn for helping me recognise the issue, and fixing our relationship before she enters her teens. Such a simple resolution. I didn’t need weeks of therapy all it took was one session to address a problem that could have affected our relationship for our whole lives.”
Sue A, Parent Therapy
“Work with Dawn is not about being taught new skills or tools to use, it is about reaching within and discovering the strength that is already there, the skills you already have, but maybe didn’t realise had lost along the route of your life.
It has enabled me and my family to move away from the head down, blinkered life we were leading, address old patterns and ways of being and communicating and start to grow and develop into who we really are, realise who or what we can really be and be confident in moving forwards.
I will never be able to express properly what an amazing difference this has made.”
Kelly H, Parent Therapy
“I’m sure you’re used to receiving emotional thanks from relieved parents but I wanted you to know something. What you have both achieved is both remarkable and wonderful and I will be grateful to you for the rest of our lives.
To say you helped give me my son back is not accurate. It’s better than that. I brought you that poor broken kid a couple years ago and look at him now.
You helped him find a potential future and gave him the confidence and courage to fight through… you opened the door and taught him he deserves a good life like everyone else.”
